Floating above Belgrade on the 15th floor of the Belgrade Waterfront, SOLE was envisioned as a natural refuge — a place of softness and clarity, where life unfolds quietly against the backdrop of the city. Designed for a family of three, the home offers panoramic views of the Sava River and Belgrade’s skyline, with light entering from the north, east, and west.

At its core, SOLE is about creating ease. Solid oak, stone, painted MDF, and a careful composition of dual-tone wood veneer form the material backbone of the apartment.
Nearly every element — from furniture to joinery — was made in close collaboration with local craftspeople, grounding the space in a language of regional quality and intention. The kitchen features a dramatic, one-piece stone splashback — a sculptural element that sets the tone for the entire living area. Nearby, a bespoke coffee cabinet with pocket doors offers both elegance and everyday function.

Originally designed as a four-bedroom apartment, the layout was adapted to suit the family’s rhythm — with two bedrooms for rest and two transformed into home offices, creating a balance of quiet retreat and focused workspace. Catra collaborated on the design and production of key furniture pieces, including lounges, beds, and office seating — all tailored for comfort, durability, and clarity of form.

The material palette leans into natural softness and tactile richness. A custom-designed rug, made from Tencel in collaboration with Mara Home, anchors the lounge with a subtle sheen and luxurious feel underfoot. Upholstered pieces are finished in wool-based fabrics, chosen for their warmth, texture, and quiet resilience — ideal for a home that’s lived in deeply, and daily.
SOLE is not about making a statement — it’s about making space. Space for pause, for light, for living. A modern nest high above Belgrade: crafted, calm, and entirely personal.
